If you have obtained the firmware file, the update process for an Instant AP is straightforward. You do this via the Web GUI.
If you are jumping from 6.x to 8.x, or 8.x to 10.x, you should perform a factory reset and manually reconfigure.
Aruba allows download of certain old Instant firmware without a contract for some legacy APs.
