  • Large, complex 3D scenes or workflows relying on Windows-only features or specific GPU drivers could still be better on high-end Windows workstations, but daily CAD tasks became very comfortable on M1 Macs.

    • A common mistake is attempting to download the Windows version to run it via Parallels or Boot Camp. While virtualization is possible (and we will discuss it later), the "AutoCAD for Mac" file is distinct. The file extension for the installer will typically be a .dmg file, not an .exe.
