Bacaan Talqin Mayit Arab -

Instruct the deceased on how to answer the angels.

Arabic: وَأَنَّكَ رَضِيْتَ بِاللّٰهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِيْنًا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيًّا، وَبِالْقُرْآنِ إِمَامًا، وَبِالْكَعْبَةِ قِبْلَةً، وَبِالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ إِخْوَانًا

Transliteration: Wa annaka raḍīta billāhi rabban, wabil-islāmi dīnan, wa bi-Muḥammadin ṣallallāhu ‘alaihi wa sallama nabiyyan, wabil-Qurāni imāman, wabil-Ka‘bati qiblatan, wabil-muminīna ikhwānan.

Translation: "And that you are content with Allah as your Lord, with Islam as your religion, with Muhammad (peace be upon him) as your Prophet, with the Quran as your guide, with the Ka'bah as your direction of prayer, and with the believers as your brothers." bacaan talqin mayit arab

This is the main instruction to the deceased.

Arabic: يَا عَبْدَ اللّٰهِ ابْنَ أَمَةِ اللّٰهِ، اذْكُرْ مَا خَرَجْتَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا، وَهُوَ شَهَادَةُ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُوْلُهُ، وَأَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ حَقٌّ، وَالنَّارَ حَقٌّ، وَالسَّاعَةَ حَقٌّ، وَأَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَبْعَثُ مَنْ فِي الْقُبُوْرِ

Transliteration: Yā ‘abdallāhi bna amatillāh, uzkur mā kharajta ‘alaihi minad-dunyā, wa huwa syahādatu an lā ilāha illallāhu wahdahū lā syarīka lahū, wa anna Muḥammadan ‘abduhū wa rasūluhū, wa annal-jannata ḥaqqun, wan-nāra ḥaqqun, was-sā‘ata ḥaqqun, wa annallāha yab‘atsu man fil-qubūr. Translation: "O servant of Allah, son of the female servant of Allah, remember what you left the world upon: the testimony that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger; and that Paradise is true, and the Hellfire is true, and the Hour is true, and that Allah resurrects those in the graves."

Talqin Mayit is the act of reminding or teaching the deceased the answers to the questions they will face in the grave (Munkar & Nakir). It is a practice highly recommended (Sunnah Muakkad) according to the Shafi'i school of thought.

Setelah selesai bacaan talqin, dianjurkan membaca doa berikut:

اللَّهُمَّ ثَبِّتْهُ بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ، وَأَعِذْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَفِتْنَتِهِ

Allahumma tsabbit-hu bil qoulits tsabit, wa a’idz-hu min ‘adzaabil qabri wa fitnatih. This is the main instruction to the deceased

Artinya: "Ya Allah, teguhkanlah dia dengan ucapan yang mantap (La ilaha illallah), dan lindungilah dia dari siksa kubur dan fitnahnya."
