The Linux kernel 2.6.38 dates back to 2011. Modern Wi-Fi chipsets (Intel AX series, Mediatek MT7921, etc.) have zero drivers for this kernel. You will be stuck using 10+ year old USB adapters, which are hard to find and often only support 2.4 GHz 802.11n at best.
Why would anyone search for this specific ISO today? The following features made it legendary:
Before we dissect version 1.2.6, let's revisit the origin. Beini is a lightweight Linux distribution based on Tiny Core Linux. It was created by a Chinese developer known as "Zhao Jian" (or associated with the team "Beini Studio") around 2010-2012. Its claim to fame was its minuscule size (often under 100 MB) and its pre-loaded arsenal of wireless auditing tools. Beini 1.2.6 iso 18
Unlike large distributions like Kali Linux or BackTrack, Beini was designed to boot entirely into RAM, run from a USB stick, and focus exclusively on WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) cracking and basic WPA/WPA2 handshake captures.
The most famous version in the Beini lineage is 1.2.6, often regarded as the most stable and widely pirated/circulated build. Note: many APs have WPS locked or rate-limited
Beini 1.2.6 is a time capsule — perfect for learning classic WEP attacks or breathing life into a 2005 laptop. It won’t handle modern WPA3 or 5 GHz bands, but for educational labs or nostalgia, it’s hard to beat.

The ISO is roughly 80-90 MB. It boots to a graphical desktop (Fluxbox or JWM) in under 15 seconds on old hardware. You could run it on a netbook with 256 MB of RAM.
