Bloody Roar 1 Unlock Uriko Direct

Uriko is a half-beast with the power of the Japanese mythical cat – the Bakeneko (or "Nekomata"). Unlike later games where she’s a cheerful tomboy with claw weapons, Bloody Roar 1 presents her as:

In the original Bloody Roar (1997, arcade/PS1), Uriko is not available from the start. She is a secret character requiring specific conditions:

Note: Uriko is not part of the main Story Mode in this first game. She has no ending sequence, only a simple victory screen.

Once unlocked, is Uriko actually good? In the competitive Bloody Roar 1 meta, she is considered A-Tier (just below the broken Bakuryu). Bloody Roar 1 Unlock Uriko

From the main menu, select Arcade Mode. This is the standard story mode where you fight opponents in a set order.

While any fighter can unlock her, some make it vastly easier. Because the final stretch requires speed, avoid slow characters like Gado (Mole) or Greg (Gorilla). The best picks are:

Step 1: Start an Arcade Mode Run Select any character you are comfortable with. Yugo (The Wolf) or Bakuryu (The Mole) are recommended for their speed, but any character works. Uriko is a half-beast with the power of

Step 2: Defeat the First 7 Opponents You must fight through the first seven matches without losing a single round. Yes, that means you need perfect victories or at least 2-0 round wins. If you lose a round, you must reset the game and start over.

Step 3: The Critical Match – Uriko Appears At match 8, instead of fighting the usual opponent, you will fight Uriko. She will not be named "Uriko" on the loading screen initially; she may appear as a silhouette or a generic portrait. This is the secret mid-boss fight.

Step 4: Defeat Uriko via Special Requirement Here is where 90% of players fail. You cannot just beat her. You must defeat Uriko using a Beast Drive (Super Move) as the final hit. Note: Uriko is not part of the main

  • The screen will flash, and the announcer will yell "BEAST DRIVE!" If this is the final hit, Uriko will collapse dramatically.
  • Step 5: Defeat the Final Boss (The Beast) After beating Uriko, you will proceed to the final boss, the giant blue Zoanthrope Lord ("The Beast"). Beat him using any method (Beast Drive not required).

Step 6: Watch the Credits & Save Let the credits roll. Do not reset the console. After the credits, the game will return to the title screen. When you go into the Options menu, you will see a new "Secret Characters" tab.

Step 7: Register on a Memory Card Go to the options menu and select "Save." Your save file will now have Uriko permanently unlocked. On the character select screen, move your cursor to "Random" or the empty spot at the bottom right, and press Up. Uriko should appear.

Here is where most players mess up. After you defeat the standard final boss, the credits should roll. But because you met the "No Continue" requirement, the screen will flicker. Instead of credits, you will hear a shattering glass sound.

    You are now facing Uriko.
