As of late 2024, the Yuzu team (now operating under the "Suyu" or closed-source branches after the Nintendo lawsuit) has largely abandoned public Switch emulation due to legal pressure. However, the existing Mainline builds (Yuzu 1734+) are frozen in time—and they run Borderlands 2 perfectly.

Because Switch emulation development has stalled, the current state of Borderlands 2 is the final state. It will never get better, but it is currently "Good Enough." One of the biggest issues with Borderlands 2 on Yuzu is that the game logic is tied to the framerate. If your FPS goes above 60, the physics break (claptrap falls through the floor, vehicles launch into space).

How to Cap FPS: Since Borderlands 2 does not have a built way to cap FPS easily on the Switch version, you should use your GPU software or Yuzu settings.
