Absolutely not. While Season 1 is tighter and more shocking, Season 2 is more suspenseful. It has the best closing stretch of episodes (from "The Dark Defender" to the finale "The British Invasion").

The only criticism leveled at Season 2 is its finale. Without spoiling too much, Dexter escapes justice through a convoluted (and violent) intervention from Lila. Some fans argue that killing off the Doakes storyline was a waste of the show's best antagonist. Absolutely not
