Dism Error 87 Fixed

Sometimes, Error 87 appears because the Command Prompt is looking in the wrong system path.

Fix:

Then rerun:

For an offline image, do not use /Online.

Reboot if SFC fixed issues, then run DISM again.

Reset Windows Update components (manual steps): stop services (wuauserv, cryptSvc, bits, msiserver), rename SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folders, restart services. Then rerun DISM.
