On Windows 10/11, the built-in driver signature policy may block Usbutil’s low-level USB access. To bypass this temporarily:

  • Click Start. A warning will appear. Click Yes.
  • Wait 2-5 minutes. The progress bar will move slowly – this is normal.
  • When complete, a popup says: "Format successfully finished."
  • Close Usbutil, remove and reinsert the USB drive. It should now appear in Windows File Explorer.
