A major unadvertised feature of Rev 7.0 is its telemetry opt-out and signed firmware validation. Unlike Rev 6.x, which allowed unsigned firmware flashing (a security risk), Rev 7.0 rejects any firmware not signed by Pinnacle’s Hardware Security Module (HSM). Furthermore, the driver no longer sends usage statistics to Pinnacle by default—a privacy win for enterprise users.
The Rev 7.0 uses DPS µKernel 3.2 – a formally verified microkernel with temporal partitioning.
