Most mobs in Minecraft break down in extreme heat. Chickens turn into cooked chicken instantly in the Nether. But modded ducks—specifically those from the Resilient Waterfowl add-on—have a unique property: their quack pitch rises with ambient temperature.

In scientific mod terms, this is called the Thermal Quack Coefficient (TQC) . The hotter the environment, the higher the quack frequency (Hz). A duck at 25°C (plains biome) quacks at roughly 500 Hz. "The Duck is the safe zone!" Sarah realized. "The AI is pathing a route for us!"

Overheating the duck converts it to “Crispy Duck” (item form), losing all acoustic benefits. Ideal temperature: warm but not scorching (approx. level 3–4 heat from a campfire).


Strike the duck with a flint and steel. The duck will not die; instead, it releases the Hot Quack. The sound is a distorted, slowed-down duck call mixed with a ghast scream.
