If your waste pads are actually physically saturated, resetting the counter without cleaning or replacing the pads will lead to disaster. The printer will start printing again, but the next cleaning cycle will flood the interior. Ink will leak out of the bottom of your printer, ruining your desk, carpet, and potentially frying the internal power supply. Assume you have already backed up your data

The Safe Approach: Before using the program, you should physically inspect or replace the waste ink pads. For the L3256, the pads are located under the print head assembly. Alternatively, install an external waste ink tank kit (a DIY mod where you drill a hole and route a tube to an external bottle). If you mod the printer, you can safely reset the counter forever. If your waste pads are actually physically saturated,
