The wind howled through the peaks of the Eastern Ghats, but inside the royal dojo of Dholakpur, the air was perfectly still.
Chota Bheem sat cross-legged, his eyes fixed on a single fly buzzing around a ladoo placed three feet away. He didn’t lunge. He didn't snatch. He simply breathed.
"Focus, Bheem," a calm voice echoed.
It wasn’t Kalia, nor Chutki. Standing before him was Master Lee, a wandering monk from the Far East who had visited Dholakpur a month ago. Lee had seen Bheem’s strength—he had watched him wrestle crocodiles and lift elephants—but he had chuckled at Bheem’s lack of discipline.
"Strength without control is like a bull in a pottery shop," Lee had said. "To become a true guardian, you must master the stillness."
Thus began the legend of Bheem: Master of Shaolin.
For weeks, Bheem had traded his wrestling moves for breathing techniques. He practiced the 'Iron Shirt' technique, toughening his body, and the 'Shadowless Kick,' refining his speed. It was frustrating for a boy who preferred solving problems with a heavy stick and a hearty laugh, but Bheem was a quick learner.
Suddenly, the heavy wooden doors of the dojo splintered open.
Guards tumbled in, defeated. Standing in the doorway was a towering figure clad in black armor, his face hidden by a metallic mask. It was the Warlord Zorawar, a mercenary hired by Dholakpur’s rivals to steal the Royal Scepter. Rating: E for Everyone (PEGI 7) Unlike generic
"Where is the jewel?" Zorawar bellowed, his voice like grinding stones.
Bheem stood up. He didn't pick up his club. He simply adjusted his orange dhoti and stepped forward. "It is time for you to leave, Zorawar. The doors are broken; you can see yourself out."
Zorawar laughed, drawing a massive, jagged sword. "I’ve heard the rumors, boy. They say you are learning new tricks. Let us see if your tricks can stop steel!"
Zorawar charged. The ground shook with every step. He swung the sword downward with enough force to cleave a boulder.
Instinct told Bheem to dodge, but his training told him to stand firm. At the last millisecond, Bheem shifted his weight. He raised his right hand, not to block, but to redirect. Water flows around the rock.
His palm struck the flat side of the blade, diverting the strike into the stone floor, shattering the tiles. Before Zorawar could recover, Bheem moved. He was a blur of orange.
Shaolin Strike One: The Leaf in the Wind.
Bheem delivered a flurry of open-palm strikes to Zorawar’s chest armor. The metal dented, but didn't break. Zorawar roared and threw a punch. Bheem spun, caught the giant's wrist, and used Zorawar’s own momentum to flip him over his shoulder.
Zorawar crashed into a weapons rack, but he rose immediately, his eyes glowing red with rage. "Enough playing!"
He pulled a chain from his belt, swinging a heavy iron ball. The weapon whistled through the air, destroying pillars as Bheem backflipped away. Bheem’s stomach growled. He glanced at the ladoo on the pedestal. He hadn't eaten in two hours. He was getting weak.
“A warrior fights not with anger, but with peace,” Master Lee’s voice whispered in his mind.
Bheem closed his eyes for a split second. He listened to the rhythm of the chain. Whoosh. Whoosh. Whoosh.
As the iron ball flew toward his head, Bheem didn't duck. He caught it.
The force skidded him back five feet, his sandals digging trenches in the floor. Zorawar pulled on the chain, trying to drag Bheem in. Bheem pulled back.
"You are strong," Zorawar grunted, straining. "But you are flesh and bone!" Once you have completed the EXCLUSIVE-- Download Chota
"I am more than bone," Bheem said, his eyes snapping open. "I am focus."
Bheem yanked the chain, pulling Zorawar off balance. As the Warlord stumbled forward, Bheem leaped into the air.
Shaolin Strike Two: The Falling Mountain.
He delivered a double-kick directly to the villain's shoulder. Zorawar crashed through the dojo wall and landed in the courtyard fountain outside.
The fight was over.
Bheem landed softly, exhaling a long breath. He walked over to the pedestal, picked up the ladoo, and ate it in one bite. The surge of energy returned instantly.
Master Lee walked into the ruined room, stepping over the debris. He looked at the hole in the wall, then at Bheem, who was dusting off his hands.
"Your form was sloppy," Lee said, a small smile playing on his lips. "But your spirit was strong. You used the enemy's strength against him."
Bheem grinned. "I also used the floor. Sorry about the tiles, Master."
Lee nodded. "A broken floor can be fixed. A broken spirit cannot. You have passed the test, Bheem. You are no longer just a boy of strength. You are a Master of the Way."
From that day on, the tales of Dholakpur changed. They didn't just speak of a boy who could lift mountains. They spoke of Bheem, the Master of Shaolin, the warrior whose hands were as fast as the wind and whose heart was as steady as the earth.
And, of course, he always finished his training in time for lunch.
