On pageant morning, we visited Crystal Cove State Park (an eNature gold-tier location). The pools were teeming with anemones and tiny crabs. Best of all? A volunteer from eNature’s Citizen Science Program was on hand with magnifying glasses and ID cards. The kids staged an impromptu “beauty pageant” for the most colorful chiton. Yes, a mollusk won.
