Every indicator has a flaw. The "Full Story" of the Fisher/COG indicator includes a controversial history regarding Repainting.

The FMCBR is fractal. A "Breakout" signal on the 1-minute chart is irrelevant if the 1-hour FMCBR is in the Red Zone (-80). Always align your lower timeframe FMCBR with the higher timeframe trend.

Result: On April 19, FMCBR crossed above 80 into overbought, and an up fractal formed at the same high. A short position initiated at 1.0905 with a stop at 1.0915 (above fractal) would have caught a reversal to 1.0870 by April 20. fmcbr indicator

Look at this chart of Gold (XAU/USD). Price breaks the upper channel here (point A), but FMCBR doesn’t fire yet. It waits… price pulls back to the baseline – that’s your entry zone. Then we get a green histogram spike – that’s the signal.

Pro tip: Increase the channel multiplier from 1.0 to 1.5 for crypto – less whipsaw.
