A license generated for iRMC firmware version 1.20 may not work on version 2.00. Fujitsu occasionally changes the licensing schema. Fix: Update your iRMC firmware to the latest version (available free from Fujitsu support) before applying the license.
Crucial point: The license key does not "activate" over the internet by default. It uses an offline challenge-response mechanism. No continuous internet connection is required for the key to work after installation.

If you installed a 30-day trial key two years ago, the iRMC retains a hidden flag that the "feature has expired." Installing a new permanent key over an expired trial sometimes fails silently.
Fix: You may need to perform a factory reset of the iRMC via the BIOS or the reset to factory defaults command in the iRMC CLI (SSH) before applying the new key.
