Jhant Se (Ayushi Gupta): The foul-mouthed, intimidating senior who leads the ragging. Her name is a deliberate mispronunciation of "Jhanvi." She is the avatar of the hostel’s merciless hierarchy.
Raghav Subbu’s direction keeps the pace brisk; episodes are short and focused, which makes the series binge-friendly. Production values are modest but serviceable—the cramped, cluttered hostel rooms, the chaotic mess hall, and the cluttered noticeboards all feel lived-in. The soundtrack and background score are unobtrusive, supporting comedic timing and occasional reflective moments.
The season follows four first-year engineering students (freshers) at the fictional Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (IIITM), Gwalior, as they navigate the chaotic, absurd, and emotionally charged transition from sheltered teenagers to independent (and often irresponsible) adults. The show treats the hostel not as a place, but as a character—a pressure cooker of anxiety, friendship, hunger, and late-night existential crises.
