Version 5.0 is a clone. The original Russian-developed unit is rare. Most 5.0 versions are Chinese clones using a FTDI FT232RL USB-to-Serial chip.
Interesting fact: Clone manufacturers intentionally introduce bugs into the firmware to lock out counterfeit cables. To install 5.0, you must first downgrade the driver to a version that ignores the counterfeit detection routine.
