The protocol is optimized for business environments. While it may not be suitable for hardcore 4K gaming, the lag for slideshows and video playback is less than 100 milliseconds, which is barely noticeable.
This is the golden rule. Your smartphone/laptop and the receiving device (TV/Projector) must be connected to the same Wi-Fi router. If you are in a conference room, connect to the office Wi-Fi. If at home, ensure your TV is connected to your home network.
