Ielts Reading General Practice — Test Computer Based
The General Training Reading test is very different from the Academic version. It is designed for people migrating to English-speaking countries (like Canada, Australia, or the UK) or those applying for secondary education.
The test is 60 minutes long and contains 40 questions.
It is split into three sections:
| Platform | Free/Paid | Features | |----------|-----------|----------| | IELTS IDP Computer Demo | Free | Official, basic interface, limited questions | | British Road to IELTS | Paid (with free modules) | High-quality, detailed feedback | | IELTS Online Tests (dot com) | Freemium | Many tests, automatic scoring, timer | | GEL IELTS Prep | Paid | Official content, progress tracking | | Magoosh IELTS | Paid | Video explanations, analytics | ielts reading general practice test computer based
⚠️ Caution: Some free websites have inaccurate or overly easy questions. Always cross-check with official Cambridge IELTS books (General Training) for difficulty level.
Not all online tests are created equal. Many websites offer PDFs that claim to be "computer based," but a PDF does not simulate the interface. You need an interactive platform.
