Infosat Firmware

If you manage an Infosat terminal (Explorer 550, MarineLink 40, or the new EdgeLTE hybrid), do me a favor. SSH into the box (or check the Web UI) and run:

show system firmware version

  • The Flashing Process: The device will reboot. During this 3–7 minute window, do not power cycle the unit. The status LED will flash amber/green.
  • Post-Update Validation: After reboot, log back in. Verify the firmware version. Then, restore your configuration from the backup file.
  • Commit Changes: On some Infosat devices, you must type commit or write memory after a firmware update, otherwise the old firmware will load on the next reboot.
