After the events of the first book, Roz the robot is discovered by RECO (the robot recovery company) agents. She is taken from her island home, repaired, and reprogrammed to serve a human family on a faraway farm. However, Roz retains faint memories of her life among the animals and her adopted son, Brightbill the goose.
The story follows Roz’s new "mission": working as a robotic farmhand for the Shareef family—two children, Jaya and Jad, and their father, Mr. Shareef. Though initially a cold machine, Roz gradually bonds with the children and the farm animals. But she never forgets her true home. She secretly plans to escape and return to her island.
When Roz learns that RECO plans to decommission (destroy) her, she activates a clever escape plan. With help from the farm animals, the children, and even some wild creatures, Roz embarks on a cross-country journey. She eventually reunites with Brightbill (now an adult goose) and other old friends. The climax involves a confrontation with RECO’s hunter robots and a bittersweet decision: Roz must choose between safety and freedom. la mision de la robot salvaje peter brownepub 2021
