Mini Vci J2534 Drivers -

If you have a new Mini VCI cable and your PC doesn't recognize it, follow this process. Assumption: Windows 10/11 64-bit.

Run the installer (usually CDM21228_Setup.exe or Mini VCI Driver Setup.exe).

Once the driver is installed, you must tell the Techstream software to use it.

  • Click OK.
  • Plug the cable into your car's OBDII port (under the dash) and turn the ignition to "ON."
  • Click the "Connect to Vehicle" button in Techstream.

    J2534 (also known as Pass-Thru) is an SAE standard for reprogramming vehicle ECUs (engine control units) and performing diagnostic functions using third-party hardware and software. A J2534-compliant driver allows the Mini VCI device to act like a professional pass-through device, enabling software like Toyota Techstream, J2534 Toolbox, or other OEM software to communicate with the vehicle.     The Problem: Your Mini VCI driver is v1.4 (supports J2534-1), but the software requires v2.0 (supports J2534-2 for CAN and ISO15765-4). The Fix: You cannot fix this with software tweaks. You need a newer "Mini VCI 2.0" cable (usually red or silver casing, not the standard black).
