Ironically, NBA 2K23 has a fantastic MyNBA mode where you can turn off trade logic, force players to 99 overall, and use "Player Lock" to control one guy. It’s the exact same gameplay as MyCAREER but with zero grind and zero risk. The only thing missing is the story cutscenes.
