Nds-bios-arm7.bin rarely works alone. For a fully functional emulator, you typically need three files: Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer

| File Name | Purpose | | :--- | :--- | | bios7.bin (or nds-bios-arm7.bin) | The BIOS for the ARM7 co-processor. | | bios9.bin (or nds-bios-arm9.bin) | The BIOS for the main ARM9 processor. | | firmware.bin | The DS’s user-accessible settings (language, date, time, boot screen animation). | Ltd. It is not open-source

If your emulator is asking for nds-bios-arm7.bin, it almost certainly will also ask for nds-bios-arm9.bin and firmware.bin. Do not ignore the other two. Many users download only the ARM7 file, only to be met with a cascade of new errors.

False. Older emulators like NO$GBA have a built-in HLE BIOS. This is why NO$GBA boots games without extra files, but it has lower compatibility. Modern emulators like MelonDS use LLE by default for higher accuracy.

This section is critical. There is a massive difference between downloading a game ROM (generally illegal) and downloading a BIOS (legally complex).
