Panasonic Strada Change Language From Japanese To: English

A pop-up list will appear. Look for “English” (often written in Romaji/English characters, not Japanese). Tap it. A confirmation dialog will appear:

If you did not see "言語" or "English" in Step 4, your JDM unit likely does not support English natively. Proceed to Part 3.

| Model Series | Native English UI? | Hidden English Menu? | Notes | |--------------|-------------------|----------------------|-------| | CN-HW850D/860D | No | Partial (engineering mode) | Radio & basic functions can switch; navi software remains Japanese | | CN-RE04/RE05 | No | No | Very limited – only map screen labels change via hidden menu | | CN-S300D (Strada Smart) | No | Yes (via secret button combo) | Menu English possible, but voice & map data remain Japanese | | European Strada (e.g., CN-GP710T) | Yes | N/A | Full English available from factory | panasonic strada change language from japanese to english

Critical: If the unit boots with Japanese warnings and has a Japanese map of Japan, it is 99% a domestic model without native English support.

Even if the screen stays in Japanese, you can often change the voice guidance to English. A pop-up list will appear

If your unit is a newer model (circa 2015+), there is a small chance an English option exists. Since you cannot read the menus, you must navigate by counting icons.

Goal: Find the "Language" or "Setup" menu. If you did not see "言語" or "English"

  • Enter the Settings Menu. You will see a list of options on the left.
  • Look for "Language".
  • If there is no English option: You have confirmed the firmware is Japanese-only.

  • Turn on your Panasonic Strada and wait for the home screen or the safety disclaimer (usually a blue screen with Japanese text you must tap to accept).

  • Find the System/General Settings

  • Locate the Language Option

  • Select English
