Your Pokémon no longer have Power Points. Instead, they have Qi Reserves. Using a move like Ember or Tackle drains a small amount of Qi. If your Qi hits zero, your Pokémon enters a "Qi Deviation" state (basically Confusion + Torment + permanent Paralysis until you use a specific, rare herb).

Instead of learning moves at specific levels, Pokémon must unlock Meridian Gates. There are 12 Meridians. To learn Thundershock, Pikachu must open the "Heavenly Lightning Meridian" by consuming a specific mineral and meditating for 100 "in-game steps." Pokemon Cultivation -Beta V0.1- By Man Don-t Hop

Pokemon no longer have Hit Points. They have Qi Pools. Attacks do not “damage” so much as “disrupt flow.” A normal Tackle might reduce a wild Rattata’s Qi by 5 points, but a Cultivator’s Strike (a new move type) can sever its spiritual root permanently, reducing its max Qi forever.
