Background: Despite progress since the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), HIV/AIDS remains a global health challenge. Mobile health (mHealth) tools can enhance awareness, especially among youth.
Objective: To design and evaluate a new French-language quiz app (“Quiz Sida Millennium”) targeting HIV/AIDS knowledge, aligned with MDG 6 principles.
Methods: A cross-sectional usability study with 120 participants in Côte d’Ivoire. The app included 50 multiple-choice questions on transmission, prevention, treatment, and MDG history. Usability was measured via the System Usability Scale (SUS); knowledge gain was assessed by pre/post-test.
Results: Mean SUS score was 82.4 (SD 9.2), indicating excellent usability. Knowledge scores improved from 58% to 84% (p<0.001). 92% of users recommended the app.
