Rekordbox 5.6.0 [ Premium ✮ ]

For karaoke and mobile DJs, 5.6.0 added .LRC lyric file support for CDJ-TOUR1 and CDJ-2000NXS2. This feature was later paywalled in rekordbox 6.

The key analysis in 5.6.0 is Camelot already, but it lacks the “Key Shift” real-time transpose that version 6 offers on CDJ-3000s.

Crucially for DJs who use Mixed In Key or Lexicon, rekordbox 5.6.0 allows full XML export of your library. This enables seamless integration with other software. Rekordbox 6 restricts this unless you are on a paid plan.

Note: The DDJ-FLX series (FLX4, FLX6, FLX10) does not work with rekordbox 5.6.0. They require version 6 or later.

If you own a MacBook with Apple Silicon, you cannot run 5.6.0 natively. You could use Rosetta 2 and a 32-bit compatibility layer, but Pioneer has not validated this. Expect crashes, graphical glitches, and no CDJ link over Wi-Fi.

Running on Windows 10 (1809) and macOS Mojave (10.14), Rekordbox 5.6.0 was remarkably efficient by today’s standards.

DJs on Reddit and Pioneer’s forum frequently called 5.6.0 “the most stable version since 4.5.0.” It lacked the visual flair of version 6, but it felt like a professional tool rather than a subscription platform with a DJ skin.
