Samurai Warriors 2 remains one of the best entries in the musou genre. The character stories (Yukimura Sanada's tragedy, Keiji Maeda's wanderlust) and the innovative "Guardian" system are still superb. The PC port’s resolution nightmare has kept this game in the dark for too long.
Using the D3D8to9 + dgVoodoo 2 combination or the Peixoto Community Patch, you can finally see the battlefield of Sekigahara in crisp 1080p or 4K. Yes, the menus will be a bit stretched, and the minimap might look odd—but the core combat will be fluid, sharp, and widescreen.
Stop playing in the 800x600 prison. Unlock your resolution, and relive the Sengoku period the way it was meant to be seen.
