Solidworks Host File Block Install May 2026

Now proceed with the SolidWorks installation. The installer will attempt to connect to the blocked domains. Depending on the installer version, one of three things will happen:

127.0.0.1 updates.solidworks.com

Save the file (Ctrl+S).

At the bottom of the file, add a clear comment and then the list of domains. For example: solidworks host file block install

# SolidWorks Block List - Added on YYYY-MM-DD
# Licensing
127.0.0.1 activation.solidworks.com
127.0.0.1 license.solidworks.com
