Let’s be honest: the original arcade release of Strania was brutal. Not Battle Garegga brutal, but lopsided. The Storia side (the “hero” mech) had a clear advantage with its balanced rifle and homing missiles. The Zilra side (the “enemy” mech) was a glass cannon—all plasma bursts and no defense.

In the unpatched version, scoring was a mess. The chaining system for the “V-Weapon” energy felt inconsistent, and co-op mode had a nasty habit of desyncing during the final stage’s particle effect overload.

We loved it anyway. But we endured it.
