Super Dark Deception is a complete, enhanced remake of the original Dark Deception (2018–2024), rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5. It was announced as a free upgrade for existing owners of the original game on Steam.

The original Dark Deception's final chapters faced significant delays, and a similar pattern of cautious, quality-focused development is expected for Super Dark Deception.

On April Fools’ Day, Glowstick released a small patch for Chapter 1. While most dismissed it as a joke, players found a new, hidden arcade cabinet in the lobby. Interacting with it plays a 10-second static clip of a gramophone winding down, followed by a child whispering: “She’s counting the silverware.” This is a direct reference to the Prisoners level—the second level of the original Chapter 2. This wasn’t a joke. It was a warning shot.
