Almost half of the Qur’an consists of stories (Adam, Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, etc.). Ibn Kathir, being also a historian, weaves in details from authentic sources. Reading this in Malay makes it as engaging as a novel but spiritually uplifting.
