Using a generic calculator, I got a transformer primary inductance of 2.2mH. Using eDesignSuite for the same VIPer122, it recommended 1.8mH—because the software accounted for the IC’s internal propagation delay (120ns). That delay changes the real peak current at high frequency. The generic tool missed it. The “better” tool caught it.
