The word "New" in our title is intentional. While Port Haven is steeped in history—a town defined by its lighthouses, its tides, and its resilience—this gallery represents a bold step forward.
"We didn't want to create a dusty archive of the past," explains the Gallery Director. "We wanted a living, breathing space. 'New' signifies our commitment to contemporary voices, fresh perspectives, and art that challenges the status definition of maritime life."
The architecture itself reflects this philosophy. The gallery seamlessly blends the reclaimed brick and timber of the original warehouse structure with sleek, modern glass facades that offer panoramic views of the harbor. Inside, the raw industrial aesthetic provides a striking backdrop for the vibrant works on display.
Address: 122 Harbor Lane (corner of Harbor & Elm)
Hours: Wed–Sun, 11:00 AM–5:00 PM; evening events as scheduled
Admission: Free (donations welcome)
Housed in what was once a storage basement, the Immersion Room uses 360-degree projection mapping to place visitors inside paintings. In the inaugural piece, Turner’s Storm, you stand on a virtual breakwater as waves crash around your ankles (dry, but emotionally wet). It is one of the most talked-about additions. Pro tip: Visit twice—once in the morning when it is less crowded, once in the late afternoon when the projections shift to sunset colors.
Where the Shoreline Meets the Soul of Art
Nestled along the weathered docks of the old waterfront, Port Haven Gallery opens its doors not merely as a space to display art, but as a sanctuary for creative expression and coastal reflection. We are honored to welcome you—collectors, dreamers, locals, and travelers alike—to a place where every brushstroke tells a story and every sculpture echoes the rhythm of the tide.
