Distributing copyrighted Wii games in WBFS format is illegal. This guide is for backup purposes only under fair use laws (e.g., USA DMCA exemptions for obsolete media). You should own the original disc for every WBFS file on your drive.

That said, many rare Wii titles (Fragile Dreams, The Last Story) go for $100+ on eBay. Ripping your own copy to WBFS preserves the disc while avoiding degrading the physical media.

Do not download pre-made WBFS packs from torrent sites. Aside from legal risks, many are padded with malware or bad dumps with broken save functions.
