If you are playing on a vanilla 1.8.8 single-player world or a small private server without anti-cheat plugins, the pack works flawlessly. You will see diamond veins from 50 blocks away. No patch from Mojang has ever retroactively fixed the transparent texture exploit in version 1.8.8.
